The Time Periods command on the POS Configuration Menu allows you to add and configure time periods for the Outlets in your system. These should be time periods with a specific start and end time, such as 8-10, 11-1 etc.
(If you prefer to use a different method for the timing options at your Property, such as Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner please see the help topic Meal Periods).
Time Periods allow you to identify certain items with specific POS time periods. For example, your golf course offers rounds booked for 2 hour blocks, or your tennis equipment may only be available to guests during the afternoon time period.
NOTE: You must configure ONE set of POS Periods, EITHER Meal Periods or Time Periods, for ALL of your outlets. Later, when you configure your items, you associate each with one or more outlets and one or more POS Periods. It is this combination that provides the proper item listing in the Point of Sale (POS) interface. It is up to the staff to select the appropriate POS Period for the outlet they select when creating a check. Thus, entering time periods may be more appropriate than meal periods for your POS if your property does not offer outlets serving food, but instead has outlets such as a spa or golf course.
If your Property does not currently have our Point of Sale (POS) Module and you are interested in adding it, please contact us at Sales@SkywareSystems.com.
